Steven is a recurring boss encountered in three escalating forms. This suggests Steven is encountered at multiple points in progression, growing dramatically stronger with each rematch.
Phase 1 (4 HP)
The first encounter with Steven is essentially a tutorial fight. He has very low HP and likely serves as an introduction to his mechanics without threatening your party. Defeat him quickly and note any special abilities he uses, as they will recur in stronger forms.
Phase 2 (16 HP)
The second encounter is a moderate threat. With 16 HP he can survive two or three rounds of focused fire. His abilities from Phase 1 will be more dangerous here.
Phase 3 (64 HP)
The third encounter is a genuine boss fight. With 64 HP and fully escalated mechanics, Steven requires real preparation. Bring a healer and your strongest offensive build.
General Tips
If you encounter Steven early in a run, do not over-invest resources defeating him. Save your best abilities for the zone’s actual final boss. In the Phase 3 encounter, treat Steven as you would any mid-range boss: DoT stacking, healer sustain, and burst at low HP.
