Ability source categories
Abilities in Mewgenics come from different parts of the game. Only some can be learned by your cats; others are used only by enemies, granted by items, or triggered by disorders. This page explains each category. On ability cards and the Abilities list you can filter by category and use the category tag to jump here.
Player-learnable abilities tied to cat classes (Fighter, Mage, etc.). Your cats gain these by leveling up or from class selection.
Abilities used only by enemies and bosses. Cats cannot learn these; they appear in enemy AI and boss scripts.
The "Use" effect of an equipped weapon. Your cat gets this ability while the weapon is equipped.
One-off effects from using consumable items (heals, stat buffs, etc.).
Shared default attacks and movement (melee, ranged, dash). Available to all cats as fallbacks.
Passive abilities granted by armor pieces (e.g. set bonuses, special effects).
Involuntary abilities triggered by disorders (e.g. Mega Fart, Eat Poop).
Starter slot that resolves to a random class ability when you lock in your team.
Engine-only or contextual actions (Break Free, Enter Mech, event triggers). Not directly learnable.
