Applies Weakness (-2 DEX/STR/SPD), Slow, or Immobilize; at full mana: Immobilize + 6 damage

EarthAny unit

Can apply Petrify (unit becomes rock, all damage reduced to 1, extra knockback)

EarthAny tile

Creates Dirt tile (fills water, extinguishes fire); Aftershock displaces units on dirt

GrassEnemy on grass tile

Applies Poison 1 (DoT, stacking, ignores Armor/Holy Shield)

HolyAllied unit

Heals allies; contextual heal abilities restore HP

HolyUndead/Zombie unit

Damages instead of healing; Holy heals become damage against Undead

WindAny unit

Applies knockback; pushes units 1 space (weather) or more

Tips & Hidden Mechanics

Community-discovered tricks and edge cases. Not documented in-game.

  • Grass farming

    Water on short grass → Tall Grass with 50% dodge; Wet units walking on grass also trigger growth.

  • "Number One" Desert exploit

    Creating water tiles via urine before killing last enemy tricks system into "Hydrated" status, restoring post-battle healing despite Heat Wave.

  • Neverstone XP manipulation

    Locking a cat at level 1 forces all pooled XP to actual carry cats.

  • Bird kill buffs

    Neutral birds (Bird Migration weather) give "All Stats Up" buff + item when killed; birds fly away after a few rounds.

  • Steven anti-savescum

    First save-quit is free; second triggers "Deja Vu" disorder (10% action cancel); third causes AI takeover of your team for next fight.

  • Frozen unit physics chains

    Hitting frozen unit makes it slide; collision deals damage; sliding through water freezes those water tiles.

  • Bomb neutralization

    Bombs won't activate in Rain weather or when hit with Water AoE (fuse is doused).

  • Fight Club room

    Deliberately lowering house Comfort forces cats to fight each other; winners get random stat boosts.

  • Cooking mechanic

    Fire tiles cook adjacent food items (increases healing value by +1 STR); burning catnip restores mana to nearby units.

  • Basic attack loot grab

    Melee attacking an adjacent tile with a pickup item collects the item without spending movement.
