Persuasion Device

Awarded for completing the Persuasion Device sidequest from Dr. Beanies. During the quest, the holder loses 2 speed but gains the ability to permanently charm any basic enemy, adding them to your party. This recruitment mechanic lets you build an army of former foes as you progress through the run. Completing the quest makes the Persuasion Device available as a regular item drop in future runs.

Tip: The -2 speed penalty is a small price for the ability to recruit enemies. Focus on charming the strongest basic enemies you encounter to turn the difficulty in your favor. The Persuasion Device is one of the most fun sidequest rewards, enabling unique recruitment-focused playstyles once it enters the regular item pool.
