Savant Syndrome is a birth defect disorder whose specific mechanical effects are not yet documented in the game's data files (the effect field is currently empty). In real life, savant syndrome involves exceptional ability in a specific area despite overall developmental challenges, and the in-game version likely follows this theme by providing a significant boost to one stat or ability while penalizing others.

Savant Syndrome is heritable and falls within the birth defect category, so it most frequently appears on kittens born from breeding. Inbreeding raises the chance of birth defects, increasing the odds that offspring develop this condition. Like other disorders, it can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder NPC. Since cats can only hold two disorders, Savant Syndrome occupies one of those slots regardless of whether its effects are beneficial or detrimental.

Until the exact effects are confirmed through gameplay testing or a future patch, players should observe what happens when a cat has Savant Syndrome and decide whether to keep or replace it based on the observed impact. If it follows the pattern of similar disorders like Brain Dead (which doubles level-up stats), it could be extremely powerful for certain builds. Check for stat changes after battles and during level-ups to determine what Savant Syndrome actually does on your specific cat.
