Sandy grants the elite enemy +10 Dodge Chance, making it harder to hit with attacks. More notably, when the Sandy elite dies, it triggers a Sandstorm weather effect on the battlefield. The enemy has a visible sandstorm particle effect while alive. The increased evasion makes the fight slightly longer by causing occasional misses, while the death-triggered Sandstorm creates a lasting environmental hazard that affects the remainder of the encounter.

Sandy is a rare elite buff that is more dangerous in death than in life. The 10% dodge chance is annoying but manageable, causing maybe one or two extra missed attacks over the course of a fight. The real threat is the Sandstorm that triggers upon death, which can obscure vision and apply penalties to your remaining cats for the rest of the battle. Sandy is most dangerous in multi-enemy encounters where you kill the Sandy elite mid-fight, forcing your team to deal with both the Sandstorm and the remaining enemies simultaneously.

If possible, kill the Sandy elite last in a multi-enemy encounter so the Sandstorm does not affect the rest of the fight. Alternatively, kill it first if your team can handle the remaining enemies under Sandstorm conditions. Accuracy-boosting stats and abilities counter both the dodge chance while the Sandy elite is alive and any accuracy penalties from the Sandstorm after it dies. Abilities that guarantee hits bypass the dodge chance entirely. Plan your kill order around the Sandstorm trigger to minimize its impact on the overall encounter.
