Florian is named, which makes it a unique familiar rather than a generic one. As a charmed flea, it was likely converted from a hostile Flea enemy and retains the high-mobility jumping behavior of flea-type creatures. Its life drain gives it self-sustain, allowing it to stay active in combat longer than a simple melee familiar would.

Life-draining familiars are particularly valuable in prolonged fights where attrition decides the outcome.
