Waggle is a Moon chapter enemy with a uniquely dangerous ability: rather than killing weakened units outright, it converts them into new Waggles that fight for the enemy side. With 7 HP, 5 damage, and 3 movement in its regular form (14 HP, 6 damage, 4 movement as a Champion), Waggle is a moderately durable melee attacker whose real threat lies entirely in its transformation mechanic. It can also hatch from a Strange Egg, which rolls a 1-4 turn timer before transforming into one of several Moon enemies.
Waggle targets enemy familiars and low-health allies, converting them into full-health Waggles upon transformation. The converted Waggles retain the size of the original creature, meaning transforming a large 2x2 or 3x3 unit produces a correspondingly massive Waggle. Champion Waggles create Champion Waggles on transformation, allowing numbers to spiral rapidly if left unchecked. Notably, Waggles cannot transform other Waggles, which puts a natural cap on the snowball effect if only Waggles remain.
Waggle should be treated as a high-priority target whenever familiars or low-health units are present on the battlefield. Allowing even one transformation can dramatically shift the action economy in the enemy's favor. Burst damage to eliminate Waggles before they reach wounded allies is the safest approach. If your team relies on summoned familiars, be especially cautious, as those familiars become prime conversion targets. In mixed encounters, consider finishing off your own critically wounded units rather than letting a Waggle claim them.
