A bean-shaped brain parasite that floods its host with unearned intelligence. Bean Parasite grants INT +5 — an enormous bonus that supercharges spell power and any INT-scaling effects — but inflicts Confusion, causing the wearer to act erratically or potentially attack randomly. A high-risk, high-reward head piece: if you can neutralize the Confusion through immunity or accept its randomness, you gain one of the best INT bonuses available. Particularly tempting for dedicated spellcasters who can afford to gamble on their own behavior.

INT +5 is the highest single INT bonus recorded on any head armor piece, dwarfing the +2 on Atomic Mark. At that level, spell damage scales dramatically — abilities that normally deal moderate damage become high-damage threats, and any INT-threshold abilities may unlock additional effects. The Confusion penalty means the wearer may randomly attack allies, cast spells at wrong targets, or waste turns on ineffective actions, which can be catastrophic in fights that require precise execution.

Bean Parasite is best on a cat who only ever attacks the nearest enemy and doesn't need careful spell targeting — Confusion changes the decision-making process but not the outcome much if the target is always whatever is closest. Psychic cats who want massive INT for passive damage scaling but avoid active spells during confused turns can extract the most value. If you have Confusion immunity or a Confusion-cleansing party member, Bean Parasite becomes an unconditional powerhouse.
