Binoculars

Binoculars is an uncommon trinket that passively increases the wearer's attack range. Extra reach is always valuable — it lets your cat attack from safer positions, target backline enemies, and avoid melee retaliation. Particularly strong on ranged or hybrid attackers who want to maximize distance from dangerous frontline threats.

Attack range increases work additively with any existing range on the weapon or class. Even one or two tiles of extra reach can open up new targeting options: hitting enemies that would otherwise be out of range, attacking through a gap in the formation, or staying just outside of short-range counterattack zones. The passive nature means it works automatically on every attack without any player input.

A straightforward pickup for any ranged class, but also worth considering on melee cats you want to reposition more safely. Combining Binoculars with other range-extending mutations or items can create a unit that consistently attacks from far outside danger. Particularly useful on squishy damage-dealers who need to stay back to survive, and on any class whose primary attacks benefit from piercing or diagonal reach.
