Bubble Boy

Bubble Boy is a sidequest neck armor that causes all melee attacks on the battlefield to trigger revenge damage — every unit that lands a melee hit takes damage in return. The indiscriminate nature means both sides are punished for engaging in close combat. Complete the sidequest to earn the Bubbles weapon, which throws a targeted Wind/Water bubble that inflicts Confusion on the enemy without any friendly-fire drawback.

The melee revenge damage applies universally — your cats take damage for every melee attack they land, and enemy cats take damage for every melee attack they land. The net effect depends heavily on the balance between your melee cats and theirs. If you have more melee attackers than the enemy, you take more total revenge damage. Ranged and spellcasting compositions avoid most of the self-punishment, since they rarely make melee attacks.

During the sidequest phase, equip Bubble Boy on a support or backline cat who avoids melee combat. Ranged or caster builds are the cleanest fit, since they rarely trigger the revenge mechanic themselves while still benefiting from the wearer's passive. Complete the sidequest quickly — the Bubbles weapon is a cleaner and more controllable upgrade that delivers Confusion on demand without punishing your own team.
