Clam is a face armor item with a CHA -1 penalty that combines two reactive passives: ArmorBreakOnHit and StatusOnBreak. When the wearer is hit, the clam's shell cracks, potentially breaking armor on the attacker. When that armor break is applied, StatusOnBreak triggers an additional effect — creating a two-stage reactive chain that punishes enemies for attacking.

ArmorBreakOnHit debuffs the attacker's armor defense when they land a hit on the Clam wearer. StatusOnBreak then fires when that armor break condition is applied, layering an additional status effect on top — typically something like Vulnerable, Weakened, or Exposed. This chain means every hit taken by the Clam wearer can cascade into a two-hit debuff combo on the attacker, making sustained aggression against the wearer increasingly costly.

Strongest on tanks and frontline characters who deliberately absorb many attacks. The more hits the wearer takes, the more often the chain triggers, progressively softening the enemy's defenses and applying debuffs. CHA -1 is a minor penalty on physical builds. Pairs well with other debuff-stacking or armor-reduction items to create a setup where enemies attacking you is tactically bad for them. Avoid on backline characters who rarely get hit.
