Fate

Fate is a very rare weapon or trinket that manipulates probability and luck itself. Using it may apply a random effect each time, or guarantee a specific outcome that would otherwise be random, such as crits, dodges, or status proc chances. A wild card item for builds willing to embrace or exploit randomness.

Fate-type items in roguelikes typically interact with luck stats or luck-dependent effects, amplifying streaks of good fortune or turning near-misses into hits. If Fate applies a random buff or debuff each use, it requires high adaptability but can produce game-breaking results with favorable rolls. DEX builds that already rely on proc chances and crit rates benefit most from any luck amplification.

Fate rewards cats with high DEX or luck stats that already have favorable proc rates, since any multiplier on luck is amplified. In chaotic team compositions that thrive on randomness, Fate fits naturally as a wildcard. Avoid relying on it in precise, planned strategies where predictable outcomes matter more than potential upside.
