A thick iron plate bolted directly to the face, offering blunt protection and a cyborg aesthetic. Metal Plate provides CON +2 to increase maximum HP and grants the Metal tag, which may interact with abilities or mutations targeting Metal units. No stat penalties, no gimmicks — just straightforward survivability and a tag that opens mechanical doors for builds that leverage Metal synergies.
The Metal tag is a meaningful secondary bonus beyond the CON. Passives and abilities that target Metal units (like magnet-based abilities) may buff the wearer or interact with Metal-tagged allies, and equipping Metal Plate opens those interactions without requiring a class ability. In Bionic/Cyborg set compositions, Metal Plate reinforces the set's thematic and potential mechanical identity. CON +2 adds roughly 2-4 HP depending on how HP is calculated, contributing directly to frontline durability.
Metal Plate is best for tanky frontline cats who want a pure defensive face piece. High-CON builds like the Butcher's backup bruisers or Monks who take hits benefit the most from the HP increase. The Metal tag is a bonus worth considering if your party has any magnet or Metal-synergy passives. Against builds that specifically exploit Metal weaknesses, however, the tag can be a liability.
