Metronome

A rare active trinket that triggers the tk_Metronome ability, randomly selecting and using a move from the full ability pool. Like its Pokémon namesake, Metronome is chaotic but potentially devastating — every activation could produce anything from a weak filler to a screen-clearing ultimate. High-risk, high-reward; best treated as a wildcard rather than a reliable combat tool.

When tk_Metronome fires, it pulls from the entire ability pool rather than just the cat's equipped abilities. This means the variance is enormous — it could roll a powerful boss-tier ability or a trivial basic move. Any ability-specific stats or synergies your cat has built toward won't necessarily help when Metronome fires a random ability that falls outside your build's archetype. The ability also uses the standard activation cost and turn, so each use is a meaningful commitment.

Metronome is best used as a desperation button or a fun chaos pick rather than a build cornerstone. Builds with few good activated abilities get more relative value out of Metronome since there's less opportunity cost in a random outcome. It pairs surprisingly well with builds that have already secured their core strategy and want a wildcard safety valve. In long fights where action economy matters, the upside of rolling something devastating outweighs the risk of getting a dud.
