Rubber Band

A simple trinket that grants +1 Reach, extending your melee attack range by one tile. Reach lets you hit enemies from further away without closing into their attack range, which matters against enemies that deal extra damage up close or have melee counterattacks. A straightforward pickup for frontline cats who want to play slightly safer.

+1 Reach stacks with weapon reach bonuses. A cat equipped with the Kebab (+1 Reach) and Rubber Band (+1 Reach) effectively attacks 2 tiles ahead of their normal range, which substantially changes positioning. At 2+ Reach, you can attack enemies that can't reach you in return with a standard melee range, turning fights into one-sided engagements.

Most useful on melee-focused cats that attack every turn and benefit from staying at a safer distance. On ranged or spellcasting cats the Reach gain has no effect since they don't use it. Compare to the Kebab, which also grants +1 Reach but is a weapon rather than a trinket — Rubber Band allows you to have Reach and a more powerful weapon simultaneously.
