The D6

The D6 is the rare consumable earned by completing the Mysterious Dice sidequest. When used, it permanently upgrades one of the user's active abilities at random — a single-use power boost that can significantly improve a key spell. The randomness echoes the dice roll theme: you don't choose which ability grows, but the upgrade is always permanent.

Ability upgrades in Mewgenics typically increase damage values, reduce cooldowns or mana costs, or add secondary effects to existing spells. Because the upgrade targets a random active ability, the value depends heavily on which ability is selected — a high-use primary attack getting upgraded is far more impactful than a situational utility spell. Cats with only one or two active abilities concentrate the upgrade odds on fewer options, improving the expected value.

Use The D6 on a cat who has a small number of active abilities where any upgrade would be meaningful. Avoid using it on cats with a large mixed pool of abilities where the random selection might land on something irrelevant. The consumable is a one-time use, so timing matters — mid-run on a cat who has just completed their build and would benefit from any of their abilities being improved is the ideal window.
