Counter Attack

Counter Attack grants a unit the ability to automatically strike back when hit by a melee attack. Each time an enemy lands a melee blow on a unit with Counter Attack, the unit retaliates with a free attack of their own, punishing aggressive enemies for engaging in close combat.

Counter Attack is strongest on cats with high Strength or on-hit effects, since every counter triggers those bonuses for free. Pair it with Thorns for a double layer of retaliation damage. When facing enemies with Counter Attack, use ranged abilities or spells to avoid triggering their counters. The buff typically lasts a set number of turns or until a certain number of counters have triggered.
