Bird Migration

SpawnExtraThingsOnBattleStart: {"object":["Bird"],"number":[1,2]}

Bird Migration is a creature-spawn weather effect in Mewgenics that adds 1 to 2 neutral birds (pigeons or chickens) to each battle. Birds appear with grey counters on the tactical view, confirming their neutral status, and they wander the battlefield without attacking.

The critical detail about birds is that killing them provides meaningful rewards. A cat that lands the killing blow on a bird receives a stat boost for the remainder of the encounter, which can be a significant advantage in tough fights. Birds also drop loot items when killed, adding extra resources to your run.

However, birds fly away on their own after a few rounds, so there is a limited window to kill them before they escape. Prioritizing birds early in the fight, especially in the first round or two, maximizes the benefit of the stat boost and ensures you collect the loot drop. Waiting too long means the birds leave, and you lose the opportunity entirely.

Bird Migration can appear in any biome and is classified as an uncommon weather. It is a universally positive weather effect, providing free stat boosts and loot with no associated threat. The only "cost" is dedicating an action or two to killing the birds instead of engaging enemies directly.
