Fog
Fog: 1
Fog is a weather effect in Mewgenics that blankets the battlefield in a thick haze, imposing a universal +10% miss chance on all attacks and abilities. This penalty applies equally to your cats and every enemy on the field, meaning both sides will whiff more often than usual.
The miss chance specifically targets attack rolls, so builds that rely on landing consistent single-target hits suffer the most under Fog. Hunters, Fighters, and other classes that depend on connecting individual attacks to trigger on-hit effects or deal their core damage will feel the impact immediately. A missed attack wastes your cat's entire action for that turn, which can snowball into lost positioning, missed kills, and ultimately failed runs.
However, Fog does not affect area-of-effect (AoE) abilities in the same way, since those abilities apply their effects to a zone rather than rolling against individual targets. Mages with AoE spells, Clerics with area heals, and any class using splash or cone attacks will barely notice the difference. Status effects that proc on ability use rather than on hit (like certain poisons or debuffs) also bypass the accuracy penalty entirely.
If you know Fog is active before entering a chapter, consider swapping to AoE-heavy team compositions. Luck-boosting items and furniture also help offset the miss chance, since Luck influences accuracy-related rolls. Fog can appear in any biome and is one of the more common weather effects you will encounter throughout all three acts of Mewgenics.
