How to Obtain Mom's Knife

Mom's Knife is a very rare weapon in Mewgenics and part of the Mother Set. When equipped, it grants the Mom's Knife ability, which lets your cat throw a penetrating projectile that returns to you. This guide explains how to find and obtain this powerful weapon.

The Knife in the Wall Event

The only way to obtain Mom's Knife is through the Knife in the Wall random event. During a roguelike run, your cat may encounter a knife stuck in a wall. When this event triggers, you are given the option to pull the knife out.

Passing the Strength Check

Choosing to pull the knife triggers a Strength (STR) stat check. The outcome depends on your cat's Strength:

• Success: Your cat pulls the knife free and triumphantly claims Mom's Knife as a weapon!
• Failure: Your cat's paw slips on the blade, causing a cut and the Bleeding status effect. The knife stays in the wall.

To maximize your chances, send a cat with high Strength into runs. Classes and equipment that boost STR will help clear the check.

What Mom's Knife Does

Once equipped, Mom's Knife grants the Mom's Knife ability. Using it throws a knife that penetrates through all enemies in its path before returning to the wielder. The penetrating property makes it especially effective against groups of enemies, since a single throw can damage multiple targets in a line.

Mom's Knife is also part of the Mother Set. Collecting additional Mother Set pieces will unlock set bonuses.
