Send the Mystery Man a cumulative total of 36 dead cats to unlock the third organ grinder upgrade. The jump to 25 additional dead cats is steeper, but by this point you have likely lost plenty of cats to tougher areas like the Caves, Boneyard, or Desert. The improved recovery means you can salvage increasingly valuable items from doomed runs.
