The Tinkerer revolves around a two-step loop: accumulate Tech stacks (up to 3), then use Craft Weapon to generate a temporary weapon whose quality scales with stack count — and throw it at an enemy on the next turn. INT+4 is the highest Intelligence modifier in the game, making the Tinkerer an exceptional mana engine and capable spellcaster on top of the crafting identity. Robots, mechs, electric chaining, and area explosions give the class a wide toolkit that rewards deliberate planning over reactive play. The CHA-1 and LCK-1 penalties reduce buff potency and crit chance, so the Tinkerer's power comes from consistent setup rather than lucky spikes — give it time to stack Tech and the output compounds quickly.
