Lucky boosts the elite enemy's combat luck significantly, granting +3 Luck Up, +10 Crit Chance, and +10 Dodge Chance. The enemy gains a green-gold semi-transparent tint. This combination makes the elite both harder to hit and more likely to deal critical damage when its attacks connect. The elevated Luck stat also improves the enemy's odds on any luck-based rolls the game makes internally.
Lucky is particularly dangerous on enemies that already have high base damage, since critical hits amplify that damage further. A Lucky version of a hard-hitting enemy can one-shot fragile cats with a critical strike that would normally just be a heavy hit. The 10% dodge chance is less impactful individually but adds up over a long fight, causing occasional frustrating misses that waste your cats' turns and mana. Lucky combined with other defensive buffs like Tough or Shielded creates an enemy that is both hard to hit and hard to kill.
Abilities and items that guarantee hits or bypass dodge chance counter the evasion component. Accuracy-boosting stats reduce the miss rate. For the crit danger, Shield and Brace status effects reduce incoming damage regardless of whether it was a critical hit. Spread your team's attacks across multiple cats rather than relying on one big hit that might miss. AoE damage that hits automatically is unaffected by dodge chance. Killing Lucky elites quickly limits the number of crit opportunities they get.
