Down's Syndrome is a birth defect disorder whose specific mechanical effects are not yet detailed in the game's data files. As a birth defect, it belongs to the category of disorders that primarily appear on kittens at birth rather than being acquired during adventures. The disorder is heritable, meaning affected parents can pass it to their offspring through the breeding system.
Birth defect disorders are more likely to appear when breeding closely related cats, as inbreeding raises the chance of genetic complications. Down's Syndrome can also potentially be applied using a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder, though this is rarely a desirable choice without knowing the exact effects. Like all disorders in Mewgenics, it occupies one of the cat's two disorder slots, limiting what other disorders the cat can carry.
Since the effect text is currently empty, players who encounter Down's Syndrome on a kitten should observe its impact on stats and combat behavior to determine whether it provides any hidden benefits or purely negative effects. If it turns out to be a net negative, replacing it through events or by acquiring a different disorder during an adventure would free up the slot for something more useful. Keep an eye on patch notes, as placeholder disorders often get their effects filled in with game updates.
