Flaming is the boss variant of the fire-themed elite buff. The boss becomes immune to Fire damage, leaves a trail of fire tiles wherever it moves, and gains Fire as its innate damage element. Unlike the enemy version, this boss variant does not apply Burn to melee attackers. The boss has a lava distortion effect and an orange-brown tint. The fire trail is the primary threat, as the boss's movement across the arena creates expanding zones of hazardous terrain.

Boss arenas are typically fought for longer durations, meaning the fire trail accumulates more extensively than in regular encounters. A Flaming boss can eventually cover most of the arena floor in fire tiles, leaving your team with almost no safe ground. This creates a ticking clock where the fight must be won before the arena becomes entirely engulfed. Bosses that move frequently or dash across the arena lay fire trails faster. The boss's Fire immunity also means any Fire-element abilities on your team are completely wasted.

Non-Fire elemental damage is mandatory since the boss is Fire-immune. Water and Ice abilities can extinguish fire tiles to reclaim safe movement zones. Firewalker mutations or fire immunity items let your cats ignore the tile damage entirely. Kill the Flaming boss as quickly as possible before the arena becomes a sea of fire. Cats with ranged attacks can stay on safe tiles and shoot over the fire trail. Plan your movement paths to avoid the boss's predicted movement route, since any tile it crosses will become hazardous. Cooldown-based movement abilities that teleport or dash can bypass fire tiles entirely.
