Undying gives the elite enemy a 100% chance to revive at 50% health with Zombie status at the end of the round, plus 2 extra Corpse Health. The enemy has a dark purple-grey semi-transparent tint and a smoke particle effect. The additional Corpse Health means the enemy's body is harder to destroy before it revives, making it more difficult to prevent the resurrection through corpse destruction. When revived, the Zombie status applies -2 Strength and -2 Intelligence.
Undying is one of the most resource-draining elite buffs because every Undying enemy effectively has double the health. You must kill it once, let it revive, and then kill it again in its weakened Zombie state. The +2 Corpse Health makes it harder to destroy the body during the brief window between death and revival. In encounters with multiple enemies, an Undying elite reviving mid-fight can disrupt your kill order and force your team to split attention between fresh threats and returning Zombies.
Accept that the fight requires two kills and plan your resources accordingly. Save some burst damage for the revived Zombie version, which has reduced Strength and Intelligence but is otherwise fully functional. If you have abilities that destroy corpses or reduce Corpse Health, use them immediately after the first kill to prevent the revival entirely. Holy-element attacks deal bonus damage to Zombie-status enemies. Kill the Undying elite early in a multi-enemy fight so its revival happens while you still have resources to finish it off, rather than late when your team is depleted.
