The Bear is a powerful melee enemy with 15 HP, 5 damage, and 3 movement that can appear in any chapter. Bears most commonly enter combat through the musty cave event, which summons one directly into the fight, but they can also be summoned as player allies through the Druid class's Summon Bear ability. As a straightforward bruiser, the Bear closes distance quickly and hits hard with basic melee attacks.

With 3 movement and no ranged options, the Bear relies entirely on reaching melee range to deal damage. It lacks special abilities, status infliction, or gimmicks; what makes it dangerous is raw stats. At 15 HP it is substantially tougher than most enemies in early chapters, and its 5 damage per hit punishes any cat that lets it close in. The Bear's simplicity is its strength: there are no telegraphed special attacks to dodge or status effects to cleanse, just consistent pressure that demands a direct answer.

Champion Bears double down on the bruiser archetype with 30 HP, 6 damage, and 4 movement. That extra movement tile makes them noticeably harder to kite. Ranged cats and abilities with knockback are effective at keeping Bears at a distance, while high single-hit damage abilities can chunk through their health pool before they reach your frontline. When summoned as a friendly via the Druid's ability, the Bear's tankiness and damage output make it an excellent frontline blocker.
