Sabertooth Cat

Sabertooth Cat is a ferocious Ice Age predator with 17 HP and oversized saber fangs. It uses SabertoothCatPounce to leap across the battlefield, and in the same turn can follow up with SabertoothCatTransformSwipe — a dash-plus-swipe combo that lets it both close distance and deal damage in a single action. Its standard SabertoothCatDoubleSwipe delivers two melee strikes and inflicts Bleed. It holds a deep hatred of Cavemen and actively prioritizes attacking them when in range, which can trigger Wereman spawns if its attacks connect.

The ability to use both its leap and dash attacks in the same turn gives Sabertooth Cat exceptional reach for a melee enemy. From across the battlefield it can close and attack in one fluid motion before your cats can respond with positioning. The Bleed inflicted by its double swipe persists beyond the turn, dealing continued damage to any cat it touches. Sabertooth Cat targeting Cavemen is a double-edged mechanic: on one hand it may draw its aggression away from your cats, but triggering Wereman spawns adds a new threat to the board.

Bleed resistance or cleanse abilities reduce the ongoing damage threat significantly. Ranged attacks can chip it down before it gets to leap range. If Cavemen are present, be aware that allowing Sabertooth Cat to attack them may spawn a Wereman — factor this into whether you want to let them fight each other or not. At 17 HP it can be killed in one focused round with most builds, so concentrating fire before it gets a second turn of attacks is ideal.
