Enemy
Siren
Lures or distracts allies with a hypnotic ability.
The Siren is a support cat enemy found in the Junkyard chapter. It deals zero direct damage and does not engage in melee, but it is arguably one of the most dangerous enemies in its area due to its crowd-control abilities: it pulls enemy units toward itself over a range of 6 tiles while simultaneously healing adjacent allies. Its real role is to drag your cats into hazard tiles and vulnerable positions.
The Siren deliberately positions itself near hazards and allied enemies before using its lure ability. Pulled cats take the most direct path toward the Siren, which often runs straight through environmental hazards like spikes, fire, or traps. Once a cat is lured adjacent to the Siren, the nearby ally group the Siren has been healing is right there to finish them off. The Siren flees if it has no allied attackers to back it up, meaning it is less threatening when isolated.
Killing the Siren is the highest priority in any Junkyard encounter that includes one. At only 7 HP it falls to almost any attack, but its range-6 pull means it can lure from across the entire room before you reach it. Ranged abilities can eliminate it before it has a chance to act. If a cat does get lured, abilities that break Immobile or prevent forced movement can save them. Watch the Siren's positioning relative to hazards — that tells you exactly where it intends to lure your team.
