Immobile

Cannot move.

Immobile is a simple but effective control debuff that prevents the afflicted unit from moving. Stacks reduce by 1 each turn, so the effect is temporary. Unlike Entangled or Webbed, Immobile does not replace the unit's basic attack, meaning the immobilized unit can still attack and cast spells normally. It simply cannot change position on the battlefield, which is particularly punishing for melee units that need to close distance to their targets.

Certain movement-as-consequence actions may bypass Immobile, such as jump attacks that include repositioning as part of the ability's effect. However, standard voluntary movement is completely prevented. The Permanent Immobile variant is used internally for bosses and certain enemy types that are designed to never move, functioning as a built-in characteristic rather than an applied debuff.

Immobile is less disruptive to ranged units and spellcasters who can attack from their current position, but devastating to melee fighters who may find themselves unable to reach any target. When applied to your own cats, Immobile pairs dangerously with enemy knockback effects that push you away from the fight, as you cannot move back into position until the stacks expire. Against enemies, Immobile locks them in place for your ranged attackers to pick off safely. Combining Immobile with other movement penalties like Slow creates redundant control that ensures the target stays put.
