Webbed

Immobile. Use basic attack to break free.

Webbed is an immobilization debuff functionally identical to Entangled. The afflicted unit cannot move, and its basic attack is replaced with Break Free, which removes 1 Webbed stack when used. Each stack requires a separate Break Free action to remove, forcing the trapped unit to spend its attack turns escaping rather than dealing damage. This dual penalty of lost movement and lost attacks makes Webbed one of the more punishing control effects.

Like Entangled, Webbed can be instantly removed in full by knockback effects or Burn damage, bypassing the slow one-stack-per-turn Break Free process. Fire-element abilities are the most reliable counter, as they remove all Webbed stacks and can be used from range. Knockback from allies pushing the webbed unit or hitting it with knockback-granting attacks also works. These instant removal options are critical when multiple stacks are applied, as manually breaking free takes too many turns.

Webbed is primarily applied by spider-type enemies and web-related abilities, distinguishing it thematically from Entangled (which comes from vine and plant sources) despite identical mechanics. Spells can still be cast while Webbed, so spellcaster cats are less impacted than melee fighters who depend on basic attacks. When exploring areas with spider enemies, having fire-element abilities available provides strong counterplay. Webbed is less threatening in team fights where allies can knock the webbed unit free, but can be devastating to isolated cats that lack the means to escape quickly.
