Squirrel is a nimble basic enemy encountered throughout all chapters of Mewgenics. With just 1 HP and 2 damage, it seems like one of the most trivial threats in the game. However, it compensates with 5 movement and 5 Luck, giving it exceptional speed and the ability to dart across the battlefield unpredictably. Squirrels can also be summoned as allies through several Druid class abilities, including Summon Squirrel, Form of the Squirrel, Birth Squirrel, and Squirrel Squad.

The Squirrel's defining trait is its multi-attack: it strikes between one and three times per turn, making its damage output highly unpredictable. A single Squirrel rolling three hits deals 6 damage in one round, which can catch low-HP cats off guard. In encounters with multiple Squirrels, the variance compounds, and a few lucky multi-attack streaks can shred a cat's health bar before you have time to respond.

Champion Squirrels escalate the threat significantly, with 5 HP, 5 damage, and 7 movement. A champion rolling three attacks deals 15 damage in a single turn, enough to threaten most cats outright. Their extreme movement speed means they can reach nearly any target on the field. Fortunately, even champions go down quickly to area-of-effect abilities or any focused attack. Prioritize them when they appear alongside slower, tankier enemies that would otherwise monopolize your attention.
