Torn Tendon

DEX -1

Torn Tendon is a Basic Injury that permanently reduces a cat's Dexterity (DEX) by 1. It leaves a scar on the cat's limbs and affects accuracy, dodge chance, and any abilities that scale with DEX.

Torn Tendon is applied randomly when a cat is downed in combat or through certain House events like Cat Fights. It does not heal over time and is permanent unless removed by a specific injury-healing effect. Multiple Torn Tendons on the same cat will stack, compounding the accuracy and evasion loss with each instance.

DEX loss is particularly punishing for cats that rely on landing precise attacks or dodging incoming damage. Rogue-style builds and cats with high crit-chance scaling feel the impact of Torn Tendon most acutely, since their effectiveness depends on hitting consistently. Tanky or spell-focused cats can absorb a Torn Tendon more gracefully, as their core mechanics depend less on DEX. As with all Basic Injuries, Thick Skull from the Fighter class can redirect Torn Tendons into Concussions instead.
