The exact proc rate for ChanceToBackflip isn't fixed — it scales with the item's rarity tier. As a rare item, Angelic Protection offers a higher backflip chance than lower-rarity dodge pieces. The backflip is a full dodge: the attack is negated entirely, not just reduced. Status effects and damage-over-time from the triggering hit are also avoided when it procs.

It performs best on high-value cats that need survivability insurance rather than on tanky builds that already absorb hits well. Combined with other passive evasion sources like Small Rune or Conjoined Eye, the backflip becomes a frequent enough occurrence to meaningfully shape a fight. Particularly valuable in boss encounters where a single dodged hit can prevent a lethal outcome.
