Bloody Spikes

Bloody Spikes is a rare weapon that coats sharpened spikes in blood, dealing physical piercing damage with enhanced Bleed application. A brutal weapon that combines puncture damage with hemorrhagic effects for sustained damage output.

The blood coating on the spikes may increase the Bleed stack applied per hit compared to clean spike weapons, making this a stronger Bleed applicator than its damage number alone suggests. Piercing damage from spikes can bypass certain armor values, giving Bloody Spikes an edge against tanky enemies with high physical defense. Multiple stacks of Bleed compound their damage each turn.

Bloody Spikes is most effective in a lineup built around Bleed stacking, paired with Bloody Knife, Blood Bucket, and other blood items from the same family. High-DEX cats maximize both the hit frequency and Bleed application rate. The armor-piercing nature makes it particularly valuable against armored enemy types that resist conventional melee damage.
