An enormous layer of whale blubber draped around the neck — disgusting, heavy, and extraordinarily effective. Blubber delivers CON +7, one of the highest raw Constitution bonuses available, translating into a massive HP pool. The cost is brutal: SPD -5 cripples turn order and CHA -2 reduces charm scaling. This is an item for cats who are simply trying to not die — ideally ones who don't rely on acting quickly or on charisma-based effects. Pair with abilities or mutations that benefit from high HP totals to make the most of the wall of blubber.

CON +7 directly translates to a large HP increase — among the highest from a single item. SPD -5 is severe: it pushes the wearer toward the bottom of the initiative order, often meaning enemies act multiple times before this character can respond. CHA -2 reduces charm-scaling ability damage and social checks. The item creates a character who can absorb tremendous punishment but contributes slowly — they act rarely but survive almost anything.

Ideal on characters who are used purely as tanks or decoys — the SPD loss becomes irrelevant if the character's role is to absorb hits and not contribute offensively. Synergizes with HP-scaling abilities that deal more damage or generate more effects at high HP. Avoid on any character that relies on acting early each turn. Compare to Steven's Gobbler (CON +6, SPD -99) — Blubber is the less extreme version that still takes some turns, making it viable for more active builds.
