Chaos Device

Chaos Device is a sidequest head armor from the Experimental item set. While equipped, it opens the level-up pool to all classes and provides extra rerolls, letting the wearer cherry-pick powerful abilities that normally sit outside their class. The effect disappears with the item, so it's a temporary build-widening tool — complete the sidequest to earn the Chaos Controller, which makes multi-class level-ups a permanent fixture rather than a borrowed benefit.

While the Chaos Device is equipped, every level-up offers abilities from the full game roster. This temporary access can be used to grab exactly the cross-class ability you need most before completing the sidequest and transitioning to the Chaos Controller's permanent version. The extra rerolls make it possible to hunt for specific rare abilities within the expanded pool, giving you multiple chances per level-up to find the ideal pick.

Prioritize completing the sidequest while the Chaos Device is equipped, so you can immediately swap to the Chaos Controller and maintain cross-class access permanently. The head armor slot cost is the same for both items, so there is no reason to delay the upgrade. In the interim, use the Chaos Device phase to grab one or two high-value cross-class abilities before making the transition.
