Chupacabra Tongue is a rare trinket that grants lifesteal, restoring health proportional to the damage dealt. This sustain mechanic is particularly strong on high-damage-per-hit cats who can recover significant HP in a single strike. It removes the need for external healing in many fights, making it a reliable survival tool for aggressive melee builds.

Lifesteal scales with damage output: a cat dealing 20 damage per hit heals several HP per strike, while a cat dealing 100 damage per hit may heal enough to offset a full enemy attack. The more damage the cat deals, the more HP is restored, creating a positive feedback loop where offensive power directly improves survivability. Lifesteal does not help against burst damage that exceeds the HP restored in one exchange, but in sustained fights where both sides trade blows over many rounds, the accumulated healing can make the cat effectively unkillable.

Chupacabra Tongue is a natural fit for melee damage dealers with high STR or weapon damage: every attack heals them while dealing massive damage, creating a self-sufficient combat loop. Fighter, Berserker, and similar frontline classes benefit most. The trinket also benefits from multi-hit attack patterns: abilities that land multiple strikes per turn generate multiple lifesteal procs. Combine with damage-amplifying mutations to scale both the damage dealt and the HP recovered simultaneously.
