Confusing Hat

The Confusing Hat is a rare head armor that applies Confusion 2 to the wearer and every enemy at the start of each battle. Confusion causes erratic, uncontrolled behavior — so this is a deliberate double-edged weapon. Every enemy is disrupted, but so is your own cat. The hat is most useful when your build can tolerate or work around losing control of that cat, or when the enemy disruption outweighs the self-penalty by a wide enough margin.

Cats with purely passive or automatic effects — thorns, health regen, familiar spawns — don't lose much from being confused since they weren't relying on directed actions. Confusion 2 on a full enemy group can also scatter melee threats before they reach your backline. It's a high-variance item that rewards building around its chaos rather than fighting it.
