Crown Of Thorns

Crown of Thorns is a very rare head armor that deals thorns damage to attackers and applies a status effect every time the wearer takes damage. As the very rare upgrade to the rare Crown of Horns, this version likely applies a more potent status on each hit. An excellent choice for frontline tanks who want to convert enemy aggression into sustained retaliation pressure.

Thorns returns physical damage to any attacker in melee range, while StatusOnTookDamage fires a debuff on every hit from any source. This creates two simultaneous retaliatory effects — direct physical damage and a status debuff — applied to anyone who attacks the wearer. The more frequently the wearer is hit, the more both effects accumulate. At very rare rarity the status is presumably more impactful than lower-rarity equivalents.

Crown of Thorns is the head slot companion for the Pins and Needles or Gemstone Bones face slot setup — combining thorns + status-on-hit from both head and face slots simultaneously. Best on durable tanks who absorb constant melee pressure. The very rare status effect gives this a significant edge over common or uncommon thorns helmets for late-game runs where debuff quality matters.
