Gemstone Bones

Bones studded with embedded gemstones, worn across the face. Shield:4 and CHA+1 anchor the stats, while three reactive passives stack on top: KineticSpikes deal retaliatory damage to melee attackers, StatusOnTookDamage applies a debuff each time damage connects, and StatusOnDie triggers a final effect on death. A face slot that fights back from multiple angles whenever the wearer is hit.

KineticSpikes return physical damage to any enemy that strikes in melee — the more often the wearer is hit in melee, the more total retaliatory damage accumulates. StatusOnTookDamage fires on every damage source including ranged and AoE, so it triggers far more often than KineticSpikes alone. StatusOnDie fires once at death, capping the item's reactive value. The three passives together make the wearer progressively more punishing to attack.

Gemstone Bones rewards tank builds that absorb many hits and want to passively punish enemies for attacking them. The trifecta of thorns, on-hit status, and death burst creates layers of deterrence.
