Disorder Decoder

Disorder Decoder is the rare face armor earned by completing the Experimental Treatment sidequest. Each disorder the wearer has reduces all spell costs by 1, turning a normally detrimental condition into a powerful mana economy engine. Paired with the Experimental Treatment's disorder-granting level-ups, it enables dramatically cheaper high-cost spell builds.

Each disorder reduces all spell costs by 1, so a cat with 3 disorders pays 3 less mana per spell, and a cat with 5 disorders pays 5 less. High-cost spells that normally require 5-7 mana can become nearly free with sufficient disorder stacking. Disorders still carry their own stat penalties and conditional effects, so the ideal is to accumulate disorders with manageable downsides while building a caster whose primary cost is mana.

Disorder Decoder is the cornerstone of disorder-stacking caster builds. Combine it with the disorder syringe, Experimental Treatment's level-up disorders, and any other disorder sources to maximize the mana discount. Psychic and Mage class cats benefit most since they rely heavily on mana for consistent output. The face armor slot is well spent here as the mana savings compound across every fight for the rest of the run.
