Emo Wig

Emo Wig is a rare head armor that hits every stat with -1 across the board while radiating a DepressionAura and triggering an AbilityReaction. The all-stat penalty is harsh, but the AbilityReaction passive — which fires in response to specific ability use — may be powerful enough to justify the sacrifice in the right build. Check what the aura inflicts on nearby enemies before dismissing this as a pure downgrade.

The -1 to all stats reduces HP, STR, DEX, INT, LCK, and any other stat it touches simultaneously, which is a broader downgrade than most penalty items that focus on one or two stats. DepressionAura likely inflicts a Depressed status on adjacent enemies each turn, which could reduce their offensive output or morale-adjacent stats depending on how the effect is implemented. AbilityReaction fires when the wearer uses an ability, essentially giving a free bonus action or additional effect on top of whatever ability triggered it. If the reaction output is strong, it effectively adds value to every ability cast and may outpace the stat losses.

Emo Wig works on ability-heavy cats that cast frequently and can afford the stat penalty. If the AbilityReaction deals damage or applies a significant debuff each time, a cat with four or five active abilities turns each ability use into two actions worth of output. The Depression aura adds passive pressure on nearby enemies without any input from the player. Avoid it on stat-dependent physical attackers where the across-the-board penalty visibly reduces damage and durability. For a high-INT spellcaster with redundant survivability, the wig's reaction engine can be a genuine power boost.
