Depression Aura

Internal engine status effect. Depression Aura is the carrier effect that generates the stat-reducing aura around Depressing and Slightly Depressing elite enemies. While the elite buff determines the enemy has the Depressing modifier, this aura status is the actual area-of-effect that applies stat reductions to nearby cats each turn.

The Depression Aura radiates from the elite enemy and affects all hostile units within its range. The stat reduction applies continuously while cats remain within range, weakening their damage, speed, and other stats. Moving outside the aura range immediately restores the affected stats. This is the internal mechanic that makes the depression debuff zone function, while the Elite Buff: Depressing and Elite Buff: Slightly Depressing entries describe the player-facing effects.
