Status Effect
Elite Buff: Slightly Depressing
While alive, adjacent enemies have -1 to all stats.
Internal engine status effect. This is the status applied to elite enemies with the Slightly Depressing modifier. Slightly Depressing creates a mild debuff aura around the enemy that reduces nearby cats' stats by a small amount. A weaker version of the full Depressing buff, but still impactful in prolonged fights where the constant stat drain accumulates.
The aura applies its stat reduction to all cats within range every turn, making it a persistent drag on your team's effectiveness. Even small stat reductions add up when applied across multiple stats and multiple turns. Melee cats suffer the most since they must stay within aura range to attack, while ranged cats can sometimes operate outside the debuff zone.
Counter the aura by using stat-boosting buffs like All Stats Up or individual stat increases to offset the reduction. Alternatively, eliminate the Slightly Depressing elite quickly to remove the aura from the battlefield. In encounters with multiple elites, prioritize the Depressing or Slightly Depressing enemy to restore your team's full combat effectiveness. The boss variant, Elite Buff: Slightly Depressing (Boss), applies stronger effects.
