Lead Mask

The Lead Mask is an uncommon face armor in the Lead set providing +6 Shield at -1 Speed, and applies Metal status. Among common face armor options, +6 Shield is on the high end, making it a strong defensive choice for cats that can absorb the speed penalty. Metal status increases damage taken from lightning, which is a situational liability rather than a constant one.

It's part of the Lead set alongside the Frying Pan (head armor), which also carries Metal status. If you're already committing to the Lead set's metal vulnerability for the Frying Pan's backstab protection, the Lead Mask's Shield value is a natural complement with no additional downside beyond what you've already accepted.

+6 Shield at the face slot is comparable to some rare armor pieces, making Lead Mask one of the most protective face armors at uncommon rarity. On a tank cat with high HP that doesn't rely on Speed, the -1 SPD penalty is negligible and the Metal status can be managed by avoiding electric zones. The full Lead set — Mask, Shoulder Pads, Frying Pan — stacks substantial Shield across three slots, creating a heavily armored but slightly slower frontliner.
