Leather Mask

The Leather Mask is the face armor piece of the Leather set, providing +1 Shield and +1 Brace — the same stats as the Leather Cap and Choker. All three Leather armor pieces are interchangeable in terms of their individual contribution. Equipping all three fully completes the Leather set across head, face, and neck slots, and also includes the Nightmare Hat in that set for players pursuing a kill-threshold build.

+1 Shield and +1 Brace in the face slot are dependable but modest. Like its set-mates, Leather Mask's individual stats won't transform a cat's survivability, but across three armor slots the stacked Brace adds up. The face slot is often contested by items with unique abilities, so Leather Mask is worth keeping only if completing the Leather set is your goal — the Nightmare Hat's bonus attack-per-turn effect makes the set worth completing for aggressive melee cats.

Best on melee cats actively running the Leather set alongside the Nightmare Hat. On its own as a standalone face piece, Leather Mask is fine but unremarkable — other face armors with special effects or higher defensive values outclass it in isolation. Treat it as a committed set piece rather than an open-slot pickup.
