Mage's Hat

Rare head armor from the Mage set. Grants INT +1 and triggers a status effect whenever you cast a spell. High-frequency ability users will proc this constantly, making it ideal for cats that rarely use basic attacks. Part of the Mage set alongside the Mage's Robe and Mage's Scarf — each piece adds INT and a different trigger, covering spellcasting, basic attacks, and enemy deaths for all-around status generation.

StatusOnCastSpell fires once per spell cast, independently of the spell's effects. On a cat with multiple short-cooldown abilities, this can proc several times per round if multiple spells are used in sequence. INT +1 amplifies the damage or healing of intelligence-scaling spells simultaneously, meaning the Hat buffs both the spells themselves and adds a status proc on top of each one.

The Hat is the best standalone piece of the Mage set for a dedicated spellcaster — every ability cast generates a status proc, and INT directly improves spell output. Cats with access to multi-cast abilities or very short cooldowns get disproportionate value here. Even outside the full set, StatusOnCastSpell plus INT +1 is a top-tier head armor for any intelligence-based cat. Prioritize it first when assembling the Mage set.
