Magic Mirror

Magic Mirror (Broken) is a sidequest face armor that grants Thorns, returning a small amount of damage to any enemy that strikes the wearer in melee. The catch: it also puts a bad luck curse on the entire team for random events, making expedition choices riskier while it's equipped. Complete the Magic Mirror sidequest to repair it — the curse is lifted and the minor Thorns are replaced with projectile reflection and a death-summon effect.

Thorns is a minor passive that returns a fraction of melee damage to attackers, providing slight deterrent to aggressive enemies. The bad luck curse on events makes the team's overworld encounters worse on average, adding an invisible tax to every event interaction for as long as the broken mirror is equipped. Event-heavy exploration strategies suffer disproportionately from the curse compared to combat-focused play.

Equip Magic Mirror (Broken) on a melee tank who can use the Thorns to return some damage, and complete the sidequest before the bad luck curse sours too many events. The repaired Magic Mirror is a major upgrade — projectile reflection and a death-spawn are both significantly more impactful than Thorns and a curse. Prioritize the sidequest repair over most other objectives.
